Value-added tax

In connection with the state budget for 2021, the Government has proposed removing the VAT exemption that has been in force for alternative treatment since 2003. The billopen_in_new was finalized and passed by the Storting on 21 December 2020. The amendment has already been written into the VAT Actopen_in_new. This means that all massage services, other alternative health treatments and all types of wellness and beauty treatments will have a 25 % VAT obligation from 1 January 2021.

However, we will not start collecting VAT. on behalf of the state from January 2021. The first NOK 50,000 of the turnover is VAT-free, and we are then not allowed to sell treatments with VAT. As soon as our turnover exceeds NOK 50,000, we become liable for VAT, and that happened on 21 May. This means that as of 24 May 2021, we are required to collect 25% VAT. on behalf of the state.
